​Today I will be reviewing events and tv shows that I would consider watching.
So let’s start with jeopardy.
First of all the college championship. It was exiting to see some 18-22 year old’s play jeopardy. Those are some of the most smart kids en el mundo.
Now we are hopping over to the wheel. 
Of fortune.
This television show is really fun to watch.
It is like monopoly and a wheel just combined together. 
 
SHOWS NOT LIVE EVENTS
 
For shows I would recommend Americas got talent.
Some people actually talented and others make Simon Cowell (founder of show) really mad.
And it is cool when kids preform. 
Next up we have masterchef junior.
If you like cooking this is the the show for you.
These talented young chefs are in a competition and many people are watching them.
Its probably just because of Gordon Ramsey but that is ok.

​Recently some sports events happened. No, the super bowl was too long ago I know

​So, we now will talk about (research time) the Olympics. Don’t worry there is going to be one more sport but so far this is what we have.
So we will talk about an event I would like to call… women’s hockey!!
This was yesterday by the way.
This game stared Marie-Philip Poulin. She has been playing for a long time and has played in four Olympics. she scored two goals and an assist and she has never not scored a goal in an Olympic gold medal hockey game.  
She was playing very well.
And this game was the big rivalry- Canada against the USA.
Alright so first Canada scored.
By the end of the 1st period, the score was 0-2, Canada winning.        
And then at the end of the game the final score was 2-3- Canada won.
And these teams played in 2018 too. And USA won that game. 3 to 2- coincidence?!?
 
For our next sport we have basketball.
This game (Knicks vs Nets) my dad is actually working in Madison square garden.
So, stay tuned.
At the end of the first quarter the knicks had 99% chance of winning.
As the score was about 35 – 20 Knicks winning                                           
(By the way sixers star Seth Curry got traded to the nets for James harden. He is a very good shooter.)
Then Blake Griffin got replaced by Andre Drummond. He used to be a sixers player then he got traded to the nets. 
Five minutes left in the second quarter the Knicks gathered about 15 points and for the nets only 3. Now the score is 30-56. Knicks are dominating.
The Knicks defense is actually being pretty good. Quick recap on the Knicks: the Knicks made the playoffs last year for the first time in 12 years, but have not been great this season. The nets are pretty much the opposite. 
At the end of the second quarter the score was 44-65 Knicks still dominating.
After the 3rd quarter the score was 65-52.
Now we are skipping some time here. 
At the end of the game, the score was 111-106 sadly, the nets won

​First, we are hopping all the way over to Mexico. Puerto Vallarta to be specific.
There is a hotel there called Barcelo. 
If you like dessert and breakfast, this is the place for you. 
It has a cool pool and it is NOT a waste of time.
 
Now we are going to Chicago.
In a hotel inter-continental hotel. This is a big hotel. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms feel like paradise.
 
Now, we are going to a lot of places. All over New York and some of San Francisco  
The W hotel.
It is very modern very comfortable beds and fantastic foods and its clean.
I know some people who literally moved to New York because of that hotel.

I know I know you are thinking “how am I going to wright about a holiday that happened yesterday?” well simple.

​Yesterday, people went a little coo-coo over valentine’s day.
Well it’s not that coo-coo if you love your state. But before we do that, we need to start of with the basics…

Well now that you have picked up a little information, we can move on to celebrations.
 
Number one: in South Korea there are many different valentine’s days.
On the fourteenth of every month. They do the day of hugs in December and many more holidays on the fourteenth.

Numero dos: in Argentina they celebrate valentine’s day…
For one week in July. That is kind of strange.
 
Tercero: Japan does it quite different. It is celebrated on well valintines day.
Feb and women buy gifts and chocolates for their male companions or lovers. Men can’t return gifts until March 14, which is called the “white day”.

​Today, we have a spatial topic. It is a secret recipy I would like to call fast ragu.
It is a pasta recipe.
So if you will, stay tuned!

​This is the fast version of ragu. Ragu is usually pretty slow. Now it is very fast for ragu.
​
​INGRIDIENTS:

Heat the olive oil in a medium sized, heavy skillet add the onion (and garlic if desired)
And cook slowly over low heat until the union becomes very soft.
Add the ground chuck and saute over high heat, stirring frequently to break up any large lumps.
Add the parsley and basil.
When the meat as lost its pinkness, add the pureed tomato’s, salt and pepper to taste, and cook over medium-low heat until the tomato puree has mixed with the meat and has become thick. 
This should take ½ hour.
DON’T OVER COOK THIS SAUCE!
Cook your spaghetti in abundant boiling salted water until aldente.
Drain the pasta in a colander. Place the drained pasta in the skillet with the sauce. 
Place the pasta in a shallow serving bowl. Now you are ready to serve!

​Yes, I know. You are thinking what is a Friday edition? Well in fact my mom gave me a random idea. And you know what, it sort of stuck to my brain.

​So let me explain. Our Friday edition is basically were we talk about the events that happened over the week.
There are many big events that happened over the past week.
So with no words, let’s get started!

​So, recently COVID has been getting a lot better for us in New York.
 The number of cases used to be higher. On January 10, there were 35,371 new cases in NYC.  Yesterday, there were 1,937 new cases. COVID has gotten way, way better.
But remember, we still have to stay safe.

​Olympic snowboarder Shaun White has officially retired from the Olympics.
He was such an incredible Olympian and he won three gold medals out of the five times he was there. And he was the best of all time.

​If you don’t know, two days ago was national pizza day.
That was a big day for Italian restaurant’s. they made so much money that day.
And I could make an excuse on my parents for not having to eat ressoto.

​You ever heard of spider man? Spider man no way home?
If you did not, then you are going to be surprised bye how much that movie is making.

This movie has been around for three months, and has made 
$even hundred twenty one million$

​I know I know. We already did the Olympics but so much has happened on the past few days

So if you just heard about the Jony news you are probably are not familiar with our Olympics series. Here we talk about what has happened over the past few days. And if you don’t know how the Olympics works, it is basically your country competing in games that they are very good at. And if your team wins a gold medal, you win that event.
So lets get started with our first event… women’s snowboard cross big final!
This is a very special event and I am here to tell you why!
USA snowboarder Lindsey Jacobellis who had been in the Olympics for over 15 years was competing in this event. She had some experience winning medals. As she won a couple some years ago but never gold.
So she came in to the competition she got on her snowboard and started going.
Not knowing some thing unexpected was going happen.
Later on, she got first place in the race. And she was very close to the finish line.
 
Now, for the reveal… first place (gold medal) Lindsey Jacobellis!
Right behind her (silver medal) … Tanja Frieden
And third place (bronze medal)… Stacy Gaskill
 
But that was only 295 words I typed there. *exhales* continue
The next event we will talk about is men’s figure skating!! Well lets get started.

For this event there where many good teams that were rivals. But USA’s Nathen Chen had some tricks up is… umm, mouth? Nathen Chen fell down in 2018 and he did not win a medal but this year he is trying it again.  

We have never done riddles in the Jony news but today we are doing some.
I barely know any riddles but there’s a thing called GOOGLE so let’s just get started
 
Today’s riddle is, “if a plane crashed, where do you bury the survivors?
 Where?
 Answer- You don’t bury them they are survivors”.
  
The riddle that won silver medal is…
 “What color were George Washington’s white teeth?”
 Answer – they were white!

So, if you don’t know, Joe Biden got a cat recently. Actually, it was his wife the first lady Dr. Jill Biden who got the cat in Pennsylvania. Oh, and if you look at those pictures you will
You will see the cutest cat I have ever seen.
But that’s not the point. This cat is one of the very few cats that have been in the White house.
The cats name is Willow. He is about two years old. She was in fact a rescue.
She is a grey cat mixed with a little black.
Before Willow, the White house cat was in 2001 with George w Bush.
 
OTHER ANIMALLS IN THE WHITE HOUSE
 
There have been tons of dogs. One dog out of so many is Bo (he was president Obama’s dog)
The next two are Debbie and Billie those are the hamsters of president Kennedy.
Ronald Reagan actually did have a cat.
Did you that Woodrow Wilson in fact had a couple sheep.
Abraham Lincoln was given two cats, Tabby and Dixie.
 
Did you know that president Biden meant to have a cat in 2020 but it came two years later in 2022?
Willow is in fact a grey tabby. To be precise with green eyes

I know, I know, you are probably thinking “the Jony news has never done anything that has to be involved with food and Connor does not know how to co-”
But no. you are wrong. Connor does know how to cook a hamburger so if you want to impress your parents, stay tuned!
 
Before you cook your hamburger, I would recommend you get WAGYU beef.
It just gives more flavor. When you get home let your meat rest for ten, twenty minutes out of the fridge.
Yes this is the hardest part about cooking this hamburger, but it is worth the wait.
After you have done that DO NOT put your hamburgers on the grill stove top or pan yet.
First you take two small pinches of salt and spread it around your burger and do it on the other side to, then do the same with fresh pepper. Then put some Worcestershire sause. Once your grill pan or anything is hot, put your burgers in.
If you don’t know how to cook on any of these materials, then just think of it as a stove top you flip the burger when it is done on one side and all of that stuff.
 
Once you have that done you flip it. I know if my side is done because I either grab a fork and a knife and cut a small hole in the middle and if it is not pink all around. But don’t cook it to much. Or I just set a timer for four minutes on each side.
Then once you have flipped it then wait one minute then put the cheese on.
I love cheese on my burger but you could do what ever you want. But the only thing you cut on the hamburger when it is cooking is cheese. If you like unions on your burger or bacon, pre cook them.

​Today, is the start of a warm week. Even though it is not Monday. Every single day of the week is going to be cloudy. Today’s weather prediction is a cloudy 45° but it goes down to 28° later in the day. The speed of the wind it ten mph.
Not to much humidity today. 59%. That’s not too much but it is something.
Remember that was our prediction. So, every day is a prediction.
Tomorrow (thanks auto correct) is an average day. it is a cloudy and sunny 46° day but is going down to 36°. The wind will travel at 7 mph and the humidity is 57 %.
Alrighty folks this is the day we can finally have out door recess!
Thursday. It is mostly sunny and a little cloudy 50° but it drops down 18 degrees all the way to 32°. The wind will travel at a speed of 11 mph and the humidity will be at 62 %.
Next day after that witch will be Friday will be a solid 47 ° day and going down 7 degrees to 40°.
The wind will travel a speed of 9 mph.
And the humidity will be 55%.
Alright we are now at the best day of the week, Saturday.

Monday will be a fine day based on the predictions we might have ​outdoor recess. So that is exciting. Remember those are predictions. So if I am wrong blame my dad’s iPad. That is the end of our main topic in the Jony News. We will see you next page!

​The first fun entertainment we will talk about is called Monster Jam. It is basically a ton of huge custom-made trucks doing stunts. But these are very good drivers inside these trucks, so don’t try it at home.
 
This event can take place in the UBS Arena in Long Island (where the Islanders play hockey). For this event, I would recommend you bring headphones. It gets EXTREMELY loud. But the louder it gets, the more exciting it gets.
 
That is our first recommended entertainment. The second one is American football. Yes, it may be hard to understand, but it can be so exciting and it just great when your team gets a field goal or a touchdown. It’s not great if your best player gets injured.
 
The third and final recommended entertainment is watching the Olympics on tv. It is so exciting when your country wins a medal. Although there are many events, your country may be bad at them or good at them.

The winter can be such an historical time of the year. That is where the winter Olympics can take place. This year the winter Olympics is in Beijing.
And it is day three of the winter Olympics and it is so entertaining to watch.

In the Olympics there are many games to watch. There are people gliding in the air with skies
And all that crazy stuff.  Where it really took place was in downhill skiing – the women’s giant slalom. If you don’t know what a slalom is, it’s downhill skiing with a little obstacles.
 
She is one of the best of the best.  And who is she? She is Mikaela Shiffrin. She was basically the heart of the team. USA was doing very well until Mikaela fell. That basically ruined the USA in this event but Mikaela has four more races in the Olympics still.
 
HOW MANY MEDALS DO THE BEST TEAMS HAVE?

• Sweden has 3 gold medals.
• ROC has 6 medals total – 2 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze
• Netherlands has 4 medals – 1 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze
• And the US is #14 with 3 silver medals so far
