3/8/2022 3 Comments Moon Crash!Hello folks today we will talk about the past. And it was on my mom's birthday. So if you will stay tuned! On Friday, a mysterious thing crashed into the moon. And the reason, I say, thing is because we don't know exactly what it is. I might be part of a SpaceX rocket or it might be part of a Chinese space rocket. The crash happened on the back side of the moon that no one can see, but as I wrote about last week, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter which has been in space for years will be able to go to the back side of the moon and take pictures.
"The rocket crashed into the lunar surface in a crater named Hertzsprung that's a little larger than the state of Iowa," scientists said. That's a very big crater! So maybe in a few days I'll be able to share some pictures with you all. Is this the first time something has crashed into the moon? Nope! In 2009, NASA crashed something called the Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (Lcross) into the moon. And surely there have been other things that have crashed into it too.

3/2/2022 4 Comments Did You Know?Hello folks today we will talk about the future. And the place we all want to go to. And its on my moms birthday. So if you will stay tuned! So on March 4, some rocket that’s out in space is supposed to crash into the moon.
In two days. My mom’s b-day. And the cool thing is that we have a rocket called the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter which will be able to find the place where that other rocket hits the moon. The orbiter is a small rocket that NASA sent up in space to check out the moon. The far side of the moon that we usually don’t get to see. this rocket has been in space since 2009 and has been gathering information about the moon. It made a 3-d map of the moon. Now that we know what the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiterrrrrrrrrrr is like, we can move on. Lunar questions: what is the rocket called? Lunar question: will the rocket damage the moon? Lunar question: where did the rocket that is going to crash, come from? Apparently the Lunar reccon-blah blah blah is going to have enough fuel for four more years. Then we will let it go FL1NG! |
